    Trunnion Ball Valve Design Features

    1.Emergency Grease Injection Device

    The trunnion mounted ball valve is equipped with an auxiliary emergency seat sealing system. In the event that the soft seat is damaged or sealing performance is compromised under emergency conditions, sealing can be temporarily restored by injecting sealant into the auxiliary sealing system. The emergency injection device can also be used, when necessary, to flush and lubricate the seat area, helping to maintain cleanliness and ensure reliable operation.

    2.Different Types of Valve Seat Designs

     The valve seat adopts an elastic front sealing design, providing dual sealing performance and automatic cavity pressure relief. The seat is fitted with suitable polymer materials such as NYLON, MOLON, DELRIN, or PEEK. The sealing seat is of a floating type and is spring-loaded, ensuring continuous and tight contact between the sealing surface and the ball in the closed position. This design enables the valve to achieve reliable, bubble-tight sealing under both high and low differential pressure conditions.

    3.Bidirectional Seat Sealing Design

    On the upstream side, a piston effect is generated due to the difference in effective sealing areas of the seat. Under the pressure differential across the seat, combined with the spring preload, the upstream seat is pressed tightly against the ball to ensure reliable sealing. On the downstream side, a similar piston effect occurs. Under the pressure of the valve cavity medium, the seat sealing ring is forced firmly against the ball, achieving effective sealing on the outlet side.

    4.Fire-Safe Design of Valve Seat

    According to service conditions and user requirements, the ball valve can be designed with a fire-safe structure. The fire-safe design complies with API 607 and JB/T 6899 standards. In the event of a fire, when the non-metallic sealing materials are destroyed, the metal seat is driven by spring force to contact the ball, forming a metal-to-metal seal. This effectively prevents the spread of fire and leakage of the medium. 

    5.Valve Cavity Pressure Relief

     When the pressure of the trapped medium in the valve cavity rises abnormally and exceeds the spring preload, the seat is forced to move away from the ball, allowing automatic pressure relief. This process does not affect the sealing performance of the upstream seat.
